Is Distilled Water the Same as Purified Water?Updated 4 hours ago

It depends. Distilled water is as pure as it gets. There are no minerals, no chemicals, and no organics present. Purified water, or, water labeled as such, can still contain some minerals. Often, water that is called "purified" is also "enhanced with minerals added for taste," meaning that it is not distilled. 

This is not true for all forms of purified water, though! It is important to check the labels of the bottles or packaging that the water comes in to make sure that there are no minerals added in after purification. 

For best results with Third Wave Water, we recommend water without anything added back in. This helps ensure that only the right minerals are making it into your coffee and your equipment!
